Intensive Language Course at the University Language CentreInternational Summer Courses 2010 19. July - 27. August

For years now, language courses for interested persons from all over the world have been held at Heinrich Heine University during the summer holidays. We organise intensive courses for all language levels and offer a varied recreational programme in the afternoon that will enable you to get to know Düsseldorf and the surrounding area.

Information on courses

Course phase I: 19.07. - 30.07.2010
Course phase II: 02.08. - 13.08.2010
Course phase III: 16.08. - 27.08.2010
Notice: It is possible to attend the summer course for two, four or six weeks.
Language level: Beginners, intermediate and advanced: Level A1 to C1 of the Common European Framework of Languages (CEF).
In course phase II and III, no courses for absolute beginners (Level A1/1).
Placement test: On the first day of the course, a written placement test will be carried out to find out the right course level to suit you.
Content: Learn, brush up on and develop general language skills, oral and written comprehension with current texts, exercises on grammar, vocabulary and idioms, improve oral skills and ability to express yourself in writing, intercultural studies on geography/history, German movies and everyday culture.
Participants: Students, working people and DAAD scholarship holders
Minimum age: 18
Course size: 10 - 16 participants per group, several groups
Duration: 40 hours per course phase
+ ca. 10 hours of excursions (optional)
 Excursions in the afternoon, other extras
Teaching hours: Monday to Friday from about 9.00 till 12.30
4 lessons lasting 45 minutes per day
Course fee: 220,- € one course phase (two weeks)
440,- € two course phases (four weeks)
660,- € three course phases (six weeks)
payable in cash on the first day of the course
Insurance: The course fee does not cover medical and accident insurance. Participants need to cover the costs of medical care by themselves. We strongly recommend you to take out health insurance in your home country before departure.
